Conditional beliefs
A conditional belief sounds a little like this:
'I'm OK if'
or - 'I'm OK, just so long as (something) happens'
or - 'I'm OK, just so long as (something) doesn't happen'
If something happens which we we’re trying to avoid, it can ‘take away’ our ‘OK’ness’ and leave us feeling anxious, or something equally unpleasant.
Do you have any 'I can feel OK, just so long as (something happens / doesn't happen) thoughts?'
These might be conditional beliefs which you might like to think about again. Many of our beliefs are old, and might need updating!
